JAKARTA, 22 JUN 23 - Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah bin Hassan, the Chief Hydrographer of Malaysia, was honoured to address the International Hydrography Seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia. The seminar coincided with the celebrations of World Hydrography Day 2023, focusing on the theme "Hydrography – Underpinning the Digital Twin of the Ocean." During the presentation, Rear Admiral Dato' Hanafiah discussed the National Hydrography Institution's role in responding to the International Hydrographic Organization's vision of the Digital Twin of the Ocean. The National Hydrographic Centre of Malaysia strives to maintain cutting-edge hydrographic capabilities that adhere to international standards. The concept of the Digital Twin of the Ocean represents a new frontier for hydrography, revolutionizing how we see, map, and manage our oceans.
