PULAU INDAH, 1 Apr 2026- STRENGTHENING HYDROGRAPHIC COLLABORATION: UNITED KINGDOM HYDROGRAPHIC OFFICE (UKHO) VISIT TO THE NATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC CENTRE (NHC). The strategic partnership between the National Hydrographic Centre (NHC) and the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) was further solidified through an official visit on 31 March 2026. The visit commenced with a courtesy call to the Director General of Hydrography, Rear Admiral Dr. Najhan bin Md Said, followed by a strategic discussion aimed at enhancing collaboration in hydrographic initiatives. The distinguished delegation included 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰) at UKHO, and 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗢𝗕𝗘, 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 in Malaysia. This high-level engagement underscores the mutual commitment of both organizations to strengthen bilateral cooperation in hydrography. Discussions during the visit focused on advancing the Memorandum of Arrangement (MoA) on Charting and Hydrographic Cooperation, with an emphasis on enhancing technical collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and fostering mutual capacity development. The visit marks a significant step forward in deepening institutional ties and highlights the importance of sustained collaboration in ensuring safe navigation and supporting maritime development.
